New Delhi: Indian Railways has announced that the UTS on Mobile application, widely used for booking unreserved and local train tickets, will be discontinued from March 1, 2026. After this date, passengers will no longer be able to access ticket booking or any other services through the UTS app.

The Railways has urged commuters to move to the RailOne application in advance to ensure uninterrupted access to ticketing and travel-related services. RailOne has been introduced as a single, integrated digital platform aimed at replacing multiple railway apps currently in use.

Millions of daily passengers depend on mobile-based ticketing, especially for short-distance and suburban travel. Officials said the transition is part of a broader effort to modernise railway digital services and make them more user-friendly. According to the Railways, RailOne is expected to provide a smoother, faster and more reliable experience compared to existing platforms.

The decision to phase out the UTS app is linked to Indian Railways’ plan to consolidate its digital ecosystem. While UTS has served passengers for several years, the Railways believes that managing multiple apps creates confusion and operational challenges. RailOne is designed to bring all essential passenger services under one roof.

RailOne allows users to book unreserved tickets, view details of reserved journeys, plan trips and access other key railway services through a single login. Officials said this integration will reduce dependency on multiple applications and improve overall efficiency.

As per the official announcement, the UTS on Mobile app will completely stop functioning from March 1, 2026. Passengers have been advised not to delay the transition, as last-minute switching could lead to inconvenience, especially for regular commuters.

The RailOne app is available for download on both major platforms. Android users can install it from the Google Play Store, while iPhone users can access it via the Apple App Store. After installation, users need to register using their mobile number to begin using the services.
