Himachal Pradesh Weather Update Latest News: Himachal Pradesh continues to battle the devastating impact of the monsoon season, suffering severe damage to infrastructure, rising death tolls, and major disruptions to daily life and essential services across the state.

According to the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA), since June 20, over 179 people have lost their lives, including 101 in rain-related incidents, including landslides, cloudbursts, and flash floods. On the other hand, 78 of these deaths have been reported from weather-induced road accidents.

As of Sunday evening, over 296 roads continue to remain blocked, 134 power transformers are not functioning, and 266 water supply schemes are disrupted.

The worst-hit districts are Mandi, Kullu, and Chamba, while National Highway-505 in Lahaul-Spiti remains closed due to landslides and flash floods, which are considered critical access routes.

The SDMA also reported that the cumulative damage to public property—including roads, power lines, water systems, health facilities, and schools is estimated at around Rs 1,71,495 lakh. Likewise, more than 88,800 hectares of crops were affected, severely impacting agriculture and horticulture in the hill state.

The SDMA’s latest landslide risk monitoring discovered 22 locations under active surveillance in districts such as Mandi, Kangra, Shimla, and Solan. Two sites, Baldun in Nurpur (Kangra) and Dakshi in Solan, have been categorized as high-risk zones, while most other sites are said to be under moderate risk.

Himachal Pradesh Weather Update:

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rain in many parts of the state, with heavy rainfall at one or two locations in Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, Sirmaur, Solan, and Una districts in the next 12 hours.

Likewise, the authorities have urged residents to avoid unnecessary travel, particularly in vulnerable areas. The residents have also been asked to stay updated with official advisories as continuous rainfall threatens to worsen the situation.
