Jammu: Relentless rainfall and recurring landslides continue to disrupt life across Jammu and Kashmir, with fresh reports of cloudbursts and slope failures adding to the crisis on Thursday. Several routes remain waterlogged, leading to large-scale disruption in train services and leaving passengers stranded in different parts of the Jammu division.

To ease the situation, railway authorities have announced two special trains to facilitate the movement of affected travelers.

The first relief service, train number 04672, will depart from Jammu Tawi at 3:00 pm and head to Dr. Ambedkar Nagar. The train will pass through key junctions including Kathua, Pathankot Cantt, Jalandhar Cantt, Ludhiana, Ambala Cantt, and New Delhi before reaching its destination the following night at 11:10 pm.

A second special service, train number 04670, has been scheduled between Jammu Tawi and Chhapra. It will leave Jammu at 5:00 pm and arrive in Chhapra the next day at 9:30 pm, halting at important stations such as Moradabad, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, Sitapur, and Gorakhpur. Both trains will include AC, sleeper, and general class coaches, with bookings already open.

Officials said these measures were taken to provide immediate relief to stranded commuters while normal train operations remain affected due to heavy rains and unsafe track conditions.
