Ahmedabad: A massive explosion ripped through a manufacturing unit in the Ramol area of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on a Saturday afternoon, leaving at least eight people dead. The sudden blast occurred at a factory located in Mehmoodpura, directly opposite the Talent School on the Ramol-Gatrad Road. The intensity of the explosion instantly engulfed the entire industrial facility in a ferocious fire, trapping several workers inside the burning structure.
According to eyewitnesses, the blast was so powerful that the sound reverberated up to a kilometre away, triggering widespread panic and fear among local residents and shopkeepers. In addition to the fatalities, more than 10 labourers sustained severe burn injuries in the industrial mishap. Emergency responders rushed the injured individuals to nearby hospitals, where they are currently undergoing treatment for critical burn wounds.
Upon receiving the distress call, a fleet of fire tenders and heavy police teams rushed to the site to launch a coordinated firefighting and rescue operation. Firefighters battled the flames for hours to bring the blaze under control and pull out victims from the debris. The precise cause of the fatal blast remains unknown. Senior administrative and police officials have launched a comprehensive investigation to determine the technical failures or safety lapses that triggered the tragedy.
