New Delhi — Delhi Police’s Crime Branch has arrested Bandhu Maan Singh Sekhon, accused of opening fire at comedian Kapil Sharma’s KAP’s Café in Canada. Sekhon, who allegedly returned to India soon after the shooting, is purportedly linked to gangster Goldy Brar and has ties to the feared Lawrence Bishnoi gang via another wanted criminal, Goldy Dhillon. Police view the arrest as a major breakthrough in uncovering the broader criminal conspiracy behind the attack.
Investigators said Sekhon is believed to have executed the shooting at the café. After the incident, he reportedly fled to India. Acting on leads, the Crime Branch tracked him down and arrested him in Delhi. Officers said his custody and questioning could reveal the extent of involvement by underworld operatives and help dismantle the network behind the attack.
The development has sparked renewed focus on cross-border criminal links and raised serious concerns about gangster influence extending abroad. Authorities are now probing the broader gang connections and supply chain that enabled the crime.
