DC Komal Mittal Reviews Land Record Services, Stresses Timely Mutations and SWAMITVA Implementation

SAS Nagar – Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal today led a review meeting with revenue department officials to evaluate the status of key land record services, including clearing pending mutations, facilitating Easy Jamabandi, and advancing the implementation of the SWAMITVA scheme in the district.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner instructed officials to accelerate the resolution of all pending mutation cases within stipulated timelines to prevent delays in land record updates for citizens. She underscored the necessity for transparency and accountability in the operations of revenue offices.

Assessing the Easy Jamabandi initiative, she urged officers to promptly address backlogs so that landowners can conveniently access updated land records online. While acknowledging the convenience brought by digitization, she emphasized the importance of timely record updates.

Regarding the SWAMITVA scheme, which uses drone-based surveys to provide accurate property ownership data in rural areas, the Deputy Commissioner directed field staff to ensure timely verification of maps to maximize the issuance of property cards to eligible households.

She further instructed all revenue officers and staff to submit regular progress reports and issued a stern warning that any negligence in service delivery will not be tolerated.

Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal reaffirmed that efficient and transparent management of land records remains a top priority of the administration, as it directly affects citizens’ rights and their access to government services.

The meeting was attended by SDM Kharar Divya P, SDM Mohali Damandeep Kaur, District Revenue Officer Harminder Singh Hundal, Tehsildar Gurvinder Kaur Kharar, Nain Tehsildars Harjot Singh and Rajvir Singh Marwah, along with other members of the Punjab Land Records Society field staff.
