Chandigarh: The dates for the upcoming Monsoon Session of the Punjab Legislative Assembly have been officially finalized following a high-level cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. The legislative session is scheduled to commence on August 3 and run through August 10, serving as the final Monsoon Session for the incumbent Aam Aadmi Party government before the state transitions toward the next assembly elections in 2027.
Addressing a press conference following the cabinet’s approval, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann confirmed that the week-long session will focus on significant legislative business, including the passage of key bills and the formal ratification of several pending executive ordinances. Among the primary financial items on the agenda is the presentation of the supplementary budget for the 2026-27 fiscal year. Political analysts view this supplementary budget as crucial, as it will fund key state development initiatives and welfare schemes ahead of the upcoming electoral cycle.
