Class XII Student Dies After Fall from School Building During Practical Exam in Rajasthan

Sri Ganganagar — An 18-year-old Class XII student died after falling from the second floor of her school building in Rajasthan’s Sri Ganganagar district, police said on Saturday.

The incident occurred on Friday evening at SD Girls School, where the student, identified as Ramandeep Kaur, had come to appear for her biology practical examination. Police said Ramandeep was reportedly unwell but still attended the exam.

According to Acting Kotwali Station House Officer Rameshwarlal Bishnoi, Ramandeep, a resident of the Purani Abadi Tower Road area, fell from the second floor of the school premises while returning after completing her practical. Her mother and brother were waiting outside the laboratory at the time of the incident.

School staff and family members immediately rushed the student to a nearby private hospital using a school bus. Due to her critical condition, she was later referred to the district hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.

Police said an investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances that led to the fall.
