Mumbai: The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for a firing incident outside the Juhu residence of Bollywood director and producer Rohit Shetty, prompting Mumbai Police to launch a large-scale investigation. While the gang made the claim through social media posts, police officials said the assertion is still being verified.

According to officials, at least four people have been detained for questioning in connection with the incident. The Mumbai Crime Branch has constituted 12 special teams to track down those involved in the shooting and to establish the motive behind the attack.

The firing took place around 1 am on Sunday, when unidentified assailants allegedly fired about four rounds outside Shetty’s residential building. No injuries were reported, but the incident caused panic in the area.

Soon after the shots were fired, police deployed additional security around the filmmaker’s residential tower as a precautionary measure. Senior officers visited the spot, and forensic teams were called in to collect evidence.

Police said investigations are ongoing and all possible angles are being examined, including the authenticity of the gang’s claim and any potential threat links. Officials have assured that necessary steps are being taken to ensure security and bring those responsible to justice.
