Army Major Killed, Four Injured as Military Gypsy Overturns in Jaisalmer

Jaisalmer, Rajasthan — A tragic accident occurred on Sunday evening when an Army Gypsy overturned in the Tanot police station area of Jaisalmer. Major T.C. Bhardwaj lost his life in the incident, while a Lieutenant Colonel and three others, including two Majors, sustained injuries. The accident took place around 5 PM near Gamnewala village, between Ramgarh and Longewala.

According to preliminary information, the vehicle lost control while taking a turn on the road and overturned. The injured have been identified as Lieutenant Colonel Prashant Rai (32), Major Amit (30), Major Prachi Shukla, and driver Naseeruddin. They were immediately rushed to the Army Hospital in Ramgarh, where Major T.C. Bhardwaj (33) succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Doctors said Major Amit suffered injuries near his eye, Major Prachi Shukla sustained severe head injuries, and driver Naseeruddin’s left ear was injured. All are undergoing treatment at the Army Hospital, and their condition is reported to be stable.

ASI Achal Ram from the Tanot police station confirmed that an investigation into the incident has been launched. Initial findings suggest that the vehicle failed to turn at a curve, causing it to overturn.
