Air India Check-In Systems Hit by Major Glitch at Delhi Airport

New Delhi— Air India’s check-in systems at Delhi and a few other airports faced a temporary outage on Wednesday due to a third-party network connectivity issue, leading to brief flight delays.

Sources said that the disruption began around 3:40 pm and lasted for nearly 70 minutes, affecting terminals T2 and T3 at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. The systems were fully restored by 4:50 pm.

The airline confirmed that the glitch stemmed from external network issues impacting multiple carriers. “A third-party connectivity network issue had affected check-in systems at some airports, delaying flight departures of a few airlines, including Air India. The system has since been restored,” the airline said in a statement.

While operations have resumed, Air India noted that some flights may continue to experience delays as schedules normalize. In an update on X (formerly Twitter), the carrier advised passengers to verify their flight status on its official website before heading to the airport and to plan additional travel time.

The airline did not specify which other airports were affected by the outage.
