Karur: In the wake of the tragic stampede at a political rally in Karur, Tamil Nadu, actor and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay has pledged Rs 20 lakh as compensation for the families of those who lost their lives.
In a heartfelt statement issued Sunday, Vijay expressed deep sorrow over the incident, calling it an “unbearable loss” for the affected families. He also announced financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh for each individual who sustained injuries and is currently undergoing treatment.
“No words can truly ease the pain of losing a loved one. This is a tragedy that has shaken all of us,” Vijay said. “As a member of your extended family, I feel a responsibility to stand beside you. While no amount of money can compensate for such grief, I hope this assistance can offer some support during this difficult time.”
