GHAZIABAD, UTTAR PRADESH — In a heartbreaking incident that highlights the staggering mental toll on medical aspirants, a 22-year-old youth was found dead at his residence in Ghaziabad’s Vijaynagar area just hours before he was scheduled to appear for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG).

The deceased, identified as Jatin Kumar, had been dedicating years to clearing the highly competitive medical entrance gateway. Local police and forensic units have launched a comprehensive investigation after recovering an emotional video message recorded on the student’s mobile phone shortly before his tragic passing.

Undue Academic Stress Claims Only Son of Local Family

Jatin was the only son of a government employee father and a homemaker mother, growing up alongside a younger sister who is also currently pursuing her education. Relatives recounted that Jatin had locked himself in his study room late into Thursday night, relentlessly reviewing his notes ahead of the high-stakes examination.

The tragedy came to light the following morning when family members knocked on his door to wake him for the test. Upon receiving no response, they forced entry into the room, discovering him entirely unresponsive, and immediately placed an emergency call to local police dispatch teams.

Police Recover Last Video Message Dismissing Parental Pressure

A forensic sweep of the student’s smartphone led investigators to a video file created just prior to his death. According to police sources, Jatin addresses his impending examination directly in the footage, explicitly clearing his family of any wrongdoing or forced expectations.

He reportedly stated on camera that he was not facing any malicious external pressure to perform well, adding that his father had consistently encouraged him to stay calm and not overstress himself regarding the final score. Investigators are analyzing the metadata and emotional state of the victim in the clip to better understand the internal panic that led to the incident.

Law Enforcement Launches Full Inquiry into Student’s Passing

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Upasana Pandey confirmed that the local police circle has taken absolute custody of the digital evidence to rule out any external foul play. She stated to the media that the video recovered from the student’s phone has been formally preserved and included as a primary component of the ongoing case file.

The body has been transferred to a state facility for a detailed post-mortem examination. Local authorities stated that while the video heavily points toward severe, self-induced exam anxiety, they are thoroughly examining all environmental factors, the authenticity of the recording, and potential systemic stressors before closing the investigation.
