Patna: A 22-year-old woman was allegedly abducted at gunpoint and raped by two men near Fatuha railway station in Patna district, police said on Friday.

The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday evening when the woman was waiting at the station to board a train. According to her statement, two unidentified men threatened her with a firearm and forced her to a secluded spot nearby, where they sexually assaulted her.

Confirming the arrests, Awadesh Kumar, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (Fatuha-1), said both accused have been taken into custody and are being interrogated. “The survivor has identified the men, and further legal proceedings are underway,” he added.

Police sources said the accused and the victim had no prior acquaintance. Medical examination of the survivor has been conducted, and officials assured that her statement will be recorded before a magistrate under Section 164 of the CrPC.

The case has sparked outrage in the locality, with residents demanding stricter patrolling around railway stations and deserted areas to ensure women’s safety. Authorities have increased surveillance in and around Fatuha railway station in the aftermath of the incident.
