According to sources, the banned outfit has alleged that the improvised explosive device (IED) was detonated in collaboration with a group calling itself the Punjab Sovereignty Alliance (PSA). An Instagram account operating under the name “JassasinghPSA” posted a message on January 1, 2026, asserting responsibility for the blast. The post reportedly contained provocative language and made several serious allegations against the Indian government and police establishments. Investigators are examining the authenticity of the account and tracing its digital footprint.

The message claimed that the attack was carried out as a protest against the alleged production of synthetic drugs in Himachal Pradesh, which, according to the post, are being supplied to Punjab. Security agencies are verifying these claims while also assessing possible links between extremist organisations and online propaganda networks.

The explosion near the police station triggered heightened security measures in Nalagarh and surrounding areas. Officials said further details would emerge as the investigation progresses.
