Faridabad: Faridabad police have detained two men in connection with the alleged gang rape of a 25-year-old woman, who was reportedly thrown out of a moving van after the assault and sustained serious head injuries. The victim is currently undergoing treatment at Badshah Khan Hospital.
According to police, the woman had been staying at her parents’ residence following a dispute with her husband. On Monday evening, after an argument with her mother, she visited a friend’s home in Sector 23. Leaving late at night, she traveled by auto-rickshaw to NIT 2 Chowk and walked to Metro Chowk while waiting for transportation to Kalyanpuri.
Police said that around midnight, two men in a van offered her a ride. Instead of taking her to Kalyanpuri Chowk, the men allegedly took her to Gurugram Road, where she was sexually assaulted and held inside the vehicle for several hours. The accused then allegedly threw her onto the road near Raja Chowk around 3 am, causing severe injuries. The victim managed to call her sister, who rushed her to the hospital.
An FIR has been registered at Kotwali police station based on the family’s statement. During the investigation, Faridabad crime branch officers from Sector 48 arrested the two suspects, who are originally from Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh but currently reside in Faridabad. Authorities also recovered the Maruti Eeco van used in the crime.
