Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday released the second installment of the Deen Dayal Lado Laxmi Yojana, transferring approximately Rs 148 crore to the accounts of 7,01,965 eligible women.

Addressing a press conference, the Chief Minister emphasized that the scheme is designed not just as financial assistance but as a means to enhance women’s social and economic empowerment. He explained that the government plans to disburse benefits quarterly in a single installment to simplify the process for beneficiaries.

Launch and Applications:

The Deen Dayal Lado Laxmi app was launched on September 25, marking the 109th birth anniversary of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, with the first installment being transferred on November 1. As of November 30, 9,00,592 women had applied through the app. Out of these, 7,01,965 were deemed eligible, including 5,58,346 who have completed their Aadhaar KYC, while 1,43,619 applications are still pending verification.

The Chief Minister urged women with incomplete Aadhaar KYC to complete the verification promptly so they can begin receiving the scheme’s benefits.

Scheme Highlights and Transparency:

The scheme is open to all women aged 23 years and above whose family annual income is below Rs 1 lakh. Multiple eligible women in a single family can receive benefits, ensuring broader coverage. The application process is fully online, enabling women to apply from anywhere. After submission, verification is completed within 24–48 hours, and eligible applicants are notified via SMS to complete the final stage of e-KYC by uploading a live photograph.

CM Saini highlighted the scheme’s popularity, with 3,000–4,000 applications received daily, calling it a reflection of Haryana Government’s commitment to “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas.”

Government Initiatives:

The Chief Minister also reiterated Haryana’s ongoing welfare initiatives. Under Har Ghar Har Grihini, over 15 lakh women receive subsidized gas cylinders at Rs 500. Kidney patients benefit from free dialysis services, and Haryana has become the first state to procure all crops at the MSP, ensuring farmers’ welfare.

Officials Present:

The event was attended by SEWA Minister Krishan Kumar Bedi, Additional Chief Secretary G. Anupama, DG of Information K. Makarand Pandurang, Director SEWA Prashant Panwar, Additional Director Varsha Khangwal, and other senior officials.

The successful rollout of the second installment underscores the Haryana government’s focus on women’s financial independence, social security, and public welfare through digital and transparent initiatives.
