Chandigarh: Haryana’s senior BJP leader Anil Vij has once again stirred curiosity in political circles after removing the word “minister” from his bio on the social media platform X. The profile, which earlier read “Anil Vij Minister Haryana, India,” has now been updated to “Anil Vij Ambala Cantt Haryana, India.”
The change, made late Wednesday night, comes at a time when the outspoken leader has been publicly voicing discontent over the functioning of his party in Ambala Cantonment. While he has not issued a direct statement about the alteration, Vij’s social media activities in the past have often hinted at his growing dissatisfaction.
Not long ago, the BJP veteran accused some leaders of running a “parallel BJP” in his constituency. In a strongly worded post on X, he alleged that such activities were happening with “blessings from above” and added that the party was suffering as a result. He had even sought feedback from his supporters in the comments before refusing to elaborate further.
This is not the first time Vij’s social media bio has drawn attention. Last year, he dropped the slogan “Modi Ka Parivar” from his profile, only to reinstate it later with an explanation affirming his loyalty to the BJP.
Although Vij has chosen silence this time, the move has reignited debates within Haryana’s political circles, with observers linking it to his strained equations with sections of the party’s leadership.
For now, Anil Vij remains a cabinet minister in the Haryana government, but his latest online move has added another layer of intrigue ahead of the upcoming political developments in the state.
