Chandigarh, January 23, 2026: Punjab has achieved another major milestone in industrial development by attracting a ₹1003.57 crore greenfield investment in the special steel manufacturing sector, giving a strong boost to the state’s industrial ecosystem.

Sharing this information, Industries & Commerce, Investment Promotion and Power Minister Sanjeev Arora said that AISRM Multimetals Private Limited, a part of the Arora Iron Group with an annual turnover of around ₹2,200 crore, has proposed to set up a state-of-the-art steel manufacturing facility at village Jaspalon on Doraha–Khanna Road in Ludhiana district.

The project will be developed over nearly 46 acres of land and is expected to generate employment for more than 920 people, significantly enhancing industrial job opportunities in the region. The project will be implemented in three phases, with the first phase targeted for commissioning by September 2027.

The proposed unit will have an installed capacity of 5.40 lakh metric tonnes per annum (MTPA). Using scrap and ferro alloys as raw materials, the plant will manufacture round bars, wire rods, coils and flats. The facility is planned to operate on a triple-shift basis for about 350 days a year, ensuring large-scale and continuous production.

Minister Sanjeev Arora stated that the plant will be equipped with advanced steelmaking technologies, including Induction Furnaces, Electric Arc Furnace (EAF), Ladle Refining Furnace (LRF), Vacuum Degassing, Argon Oxygen Decarburization, Continuous Casting Machines and Rolling Mills. These technologies will enable the production of high-quality alloy and special steel products for growing industrial applications.

He said the proposed investment will significantly strengthen Punjab’s alloy and special steel ecosystem, particularly for the automobile and automotive components sector, where demand for high-grade steel is rising steadily. The project will also further reinforce Ludhiana’s position as a major industrial and metal hub in North India.

The Cabinet Minister added that the project aligns with the Punjab Government’s vision of promoting industrial growth, value addition, employment generation and sustainable manufacturing. He expressed confidence that under the dynamic leadership of Arvind Kejriwal and Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Punjab will soon emerge as one of the most preferred investment destinations in the country.
