CHANDIGARH, March 25: Drawing a clear line between accountability and political protection, AAP Punjab State President Aman Arora said that the Punjab Government has set a new standard by taking quick and strict action against wrongdoing.
He pointed to the immediate removal and arrest of Laljit Bhullar as an example of the government’s strong stand. Arora said the AAP Government does not hesitate to act, even against its own members, if there are serious allegations.
Quick Action Shows Clear Intent
Responding to media questions, Aman Arora said the government’s intention is very clear. He said that the Punjab Government believes in transparency and accountability.
“Our government acts fast on allegations. Laljit Bhullar was removed immediately and arrested. This shows our commitment to accountability,” Arora said.
He also criticized the BJP-led Haryana Government, claiming it is protecting the accused in the ADGP’s suicide case instead of taking action.
Contrast with Previous Governments
Aman Arora said that earlier governments in Punjab followed a different approach. According to him, leaders in Congress and Akali Dal regimes often received clean chits without proper investigation.
“If you look at past governments, serious allegations were ignored and clean chits were given within minutes. But the AAP Government is different. We speak the truth, accept mistakes, and take action without delay,” he added.
He stressed that the current government does not follow the old culture of protecting those in power, but instead focuses on honesty and responsibility.
