Chandigarh: Punjab Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur said that the Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, remains fully committed to connecting children from marginalized and underprivileged sections of society with quality education, ensuring that no child is deprived of his or her dreams due to financial constraints.
Dr. Baljit Kaur stated that during its four-year tenure, the Punjab Government has released Rs. 204.69 crore to the Punjab School Education Board under the Free Textbook Supply Scheme for Scheduled Caste students studying from Class I to X. She said that this initiative is providing a strong educational foundation to thousands of children belonging to economically weaker families across the state.
The Cabinet Minister emphasized that education is the most powerful tool capable of transforming a child’s future. She said the government firmly believes that every meaningful investment in education strengthens the foundation of a progressive and enlightened society. With this vision, the Mann Government is continuously expanding people-centric welfare initiatives to ensure equal educational opportunities for children from every section of society, enabling them to fulfil their aspirations.
She further said that these initiatives are not merely about providing facilities, but represent a significant step towards strengthening social equality, educational empowerment, and overall prosperity in the state. Dr. Baljit Kaur added that the dream of a vibrant and prosperous Punjab can only be truly realized when every child is empowered through education, moves ahead with confidence, and turns his or her dreams into reality.
Dr. Baljit Kaur reiterated that the Punjab Government will continue to further strengthen welfare-oriented initiatives in the fields of social justice and education in the coming years.
