Shimla: PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh called on Union Minister for Road, Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari at New Delhi today. Vikramaditya Singh informed that Nitin Gadkari has approved in principle to release Rs. 25.11 crores for improving and tarring the stretch between Banjar to Aut on the NH 305 Sainj-Luhri-Banjar-Aut road.
The PWD Minister also requested to speed up the process of sanctioning Rs. 1,775 crores for Jalori tunnel. The Union Minister directed the officers of the ministry to speed up the sanctioning process. The PWD Minister also urged for providing Rs. 395 crores for NH 303 Nagrota Bagwan-Ranital road. The Union Minister agreed in principle for the same.
Vikramaditya Singh thanked the Union Minister for according approval for two important road projects amounting to Rs. 239.45 crores under the CRIF for the year 2026-27. These include upgradation of Tikar-Jarol-Gahan-Nankhadi-Khamadi road and Chaila-Neripul-Yashwant Nagar-Kumarhatti road, he said. The PWD Minister said that this would highly benefit the people residing in the apple growing belt of the state.
The PWD Minister urged for allocating funds to the tune of Rs. 3.46 crores for bridges under Setu Bandhan project. He also requested to sanction more projects under the CRIF and Setu Bandhan as roads were major mode of transport in the hill state. He also urged for increasing the annual allocation for road projects under the CRIF to Rs. 200 crores.
Nitin Gadkari assured of all possible assistance to the state.
