Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Electoral Officer A. Sreenivas said that during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), it was observed that the names of members of several families are registered in the electoral rolls of different polling stations. Such situations arise when two separate polling stations are established within the same building for a particular sector or colony.
In such cases, if a family wishes to have all its eligible voters registered in the electoral roll of the same polling station in the future, it may request a change of polling station by submitting Form-8 during the claims and objections period following the publication of the Draft Electoral Roll-2026.
Appealing to new voters, the Chief Electoral Officer advised them to correctly and completely mention the details of an already registered family member while filling Form-6 and submit the application through the Booth Level Officer (BLO) of the same polling station. This will help ensure that all members of the family are registered at a single polling station.
The Election Department has urged all voters to verify their names and other particulars after the publication of the Draft Electoral Roll. If family members are found to be registered at different polling stations and wish to have their names shifted to a single polling station, they may submit an application in Form-8 during the prescribed period from July 21 to August 20, 2026.
For any information or assistance related to the electoral roll, voters may contact their area BLO, use the “Book a Call” feature on the ECINET App, or call the toll-free helpline number 1950.
