Chandigarh: Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana has announced an important initiative to connect the state’s farmers with modern and scientific farming practices.

Rana said that the government’s primary objective is to encourage farmers to adopt high-value horticultural crops, organic farming and protected cultivation, along with traditional crops, so as to ensure a sustainable increase in their income.

Giving details of the training programmes, the Agriculture Minister said that specialised training sessions on different subjects would be organised at the Sunderah centre. Training on protected cultivation of vegetables will be provided from September 7 to 11, 2026, and December 14 to 18, 2026.

In addition, intensive practical training on mushroom production and techniques will be provided from September 14 to 18, 2026; October 5 to 9, 2026; and November 2 to 6, 2026. A training session on organic farming of horticultural crops will be organised from October 12 to 16, 2026, while training on the production of horticultural crops in open fields will be conducted from November 16 to 20, 2026, and December 7 to 11, 2026.

Shyam Singh Rana further said that special training modules have been prepared under the Haryana Horticulture Nursery Rules, 2026 to make the state’s youth and farmers self-reliant in nursery management.

A government spokesperson further informed that farmers aged 18 to 60 years from all districts of Haryana can apply online through the Horticulture Department’s portal, kaushal.hortharyana.gov.in. Twenty seats have been earmarked for each training batch, and candidates will be selected on a “first come, first served” basis.

He urged interested farmers to contact Training In-charge Dr. Mukesh Shivran at 9983414484 or 8076830135 for more information and avail the benefits of the government scheme in time.
