Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini Flags Off First Freight Train

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday flagged off the first freight train from the newly constructed rail yard of the Integrated Multi-Modal Logistics Hub (IMLH) located in the Nangal Chaudhary area of Mahendragarh district. The commencement of this railway connectivity, developed at a cost of approximately Rs. 280 crore, will further strengthen Haryana’s logistics infrastructure. The Chief Minister said this marks a historic step towards establishing Haryana among the country’s leading logistics networks.

Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh, Narnaul MLA Om Parkash Yadav and Mahendragarh MLA Kanwar Singh Yadav were present on the occasion.Nayab Singh Saini said that in the first phase, the project is being developed over approximately 408 acres at a total cost of Rs. 1,300 crore. The project is among the country’s top 50 major infrastructure projects. Once fully operational, the project will have the capacity to handle approximately 2 million containers annually, directly benefiting key sectors such as automobiles, machinery, garments and agricultural products.

The Chief Minister said that the Nangal Chaudhary hub integrates both rail and road connectivity, enabling the movement of goods from the western ports to the National Capital Region (NCR) to become faster, smoother and more cost-effective.
