166 Antyodaya Melas organised across Haryana so far
Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini said that the Antyodaya Melas being organised across the State under the Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Parivar Utthan Yojana are Melas of hope, opportunity and self-reliance. Through these Melas, the Government is ensuring that the benefits of development reach those sections of society that remained neglected for decades, he said.
The Chief Minister said that beneficiaries are being provided the benefits of 47 welfare schemes of 19 departments at a single platform. He added that 166 Antyodaya Melas have been organised across Haryana so far, with 4,24,272 families invited to participate.
Nayab Singh Saini was addressing a gathering after inaugurating an Antyodaya Mela organised by the district administration under the Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Parivar Utthan Yojana at IGN College, Ladwa, in Kurukshetra district, on Sunday. He also visited various departmental stalls set up to facilitate the delivery of government schemes and services. On the occasion, the Chief Minister presented an approval letter under the PM Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) Scheme to beneficiary Tarachand, a resident of village Gobindpura.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that through the Antyodaya Melas, the Government has itself reached out to poor and needy families who had long been waiting for their rights and opportunities. He said the Antyodaya Mela is a living embodiment of the Government’s resolve that every scheme, every resource and every effort should benefit the last person standing in the queue.
Nayab Singh Saini said that Antyodaya is not merely a government programme but a reflection of India’s civilisational ethos, which envisions that everyone should be happy, healthy and free from suffering. It was Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya who gave this philosophy the name Antyodaya, believing that development becomes meaningful only when its light reaches the last household and its warmth is experienced by the last person.
The Chief Minister said the double-engine government is translating this vision of Antyodaya into reality. Our resolve is clear: no poor person will be left behind, no needy citizen will be deprived of opportunities, and no family will be prevented from progressing merely because it lacks resources, connections or access to the right information, he said.

The Chief Minister said governance is not confined to moving files in government offices but means understanding people’s difficulties, simplifying solutions and ensuring that these solutions reach the doorsteps of the needy.
He said that the objective of the Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Parivar Utthan Yojana is not merely to provide financial assistance but to connect every deserving family with sustainable livelihood opportunities. By bringing schemes related to self-employment, skill development, employment, financial inclusion and social welfare under one roof, eligible families are provided opportunities according to their needs and capabilities.
He further said that beneficiaries are not simply asked to submit applications and return. Instead, efforts are made to understand their interests, capabilities, circumstances and requirements so that appropriate guidance can be provided.
166 Antyodaya Melas organised successfully across the State
Highlighting the progress achieved under the first phase of the Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Parivar Utthan Yojana, the Chief Minister said that 166 Antyodaya Melas have been organised across Haryana so far.
He informed that 4,24,272 families were invited to these Melas, of which 1,88,792 families attended. Out of these, 1,52,157 families were referred to the concerned departments for further assistance, while 55,422 eligible beneficiaries have already been provided livelihood-related benefits.
Around 40 lakh BPL cards generated automatically through Family ID system
The Chief Minister said that all government schemes and services have been integrated with the Parivar Pehchan Patra. As a result, nearly 40 lakh Below Poverty Line (BPL) cards have been generated automatically from home without requiring beneficiaries to visit government offices.
He further said that under the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana-Chirayu Haryana Scheme, eligible poor families receive free medical treatment worth up to Rs. 5 lakh. So far, nearly 30 lakh people have availed free treatment worth Rs. 4,314 crore under the scheme.
The Chief Minister also said that the Government has introduced free dialysis services in all government hospitals and medical colleges across Haryana for patients suffering from kidney diseases.
Rs. 1,523 crore disbursed as marriage assistance to daughters
Nayab Singh Saini said that under the Mukhyamantri Vivah Shagun Yojana, financial assistance of up to Rs. 71,000 is provided for the marriage of daughters belonging to poor Scheduled Caste families.
He informed that the Government has so far disbursed Rs. 1,523 crore as marriage assistance for over 3.85 lakh daughters. The Chief Minister further said that poor women are being provided LPG cylinders at Rs. 500 per month, benefiting nearly 14.43 lakh families across the State.
Former Minister of State, Subhash Sudha, Deputy Commissioner, Vishram Kumar Meena, Superintendent of Police, Chander Mohan, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Vivek Arya, and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
