Shimla: Governor Kavinder Gupta today visited the Swami Vivekananda Meditation Pyramid at Ludhiana in Punjab and emphasized the transformative role of yoga and meditation in promoting physical well-being, mental peace and spiritual growth.

Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said that in today’s fast-paced and stress-driven world, yoga and meditation are not only important for maintaining good health but also serve as powerful tools for leading a balanced, positive and meaningful life.

“Yoga helps in keeping the body healthy, energetic and disease-free, while meditation enables the mind to remain calm, focused and free from stress. Together, they provide a holistic path towards inner harmony and overall well-being,” he said.

The Governor observed that India has been the sacred land of sages, yogis and spiritual traditions for centuries. He lauded Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for his tireless efforts in bringing India’s ancient heritage of yoga and meditation to the global stage. He noted that the recognition of 21st une as the International Day of Yoga and 21st December as World Meditation Day by the United Nations represents a historic achievement in establishing India’s timeless wisdom before the world community.

“This initiative is an important step towards re-establishing India as a global spiritual leader. In the years ahead, India has the capacity to guide the world in the fields of yoga, meditation and holistic well-being,” the Governor remarked.

Appreciating the wide range of social welfare initiatives undertaken by the Swami Vivekananda Trust, Shri Gupta said that the Trust has been rendering commendable service to society through various humanitarian projects. He said that the facility would provide people with an opportunity to learn simple, scientific and practical methods of meditation and self-development.

Gupta further expressed hope that the movement initiated with the support of the Pyramid Spiritual Societies Movement would play a significant role in promoting peace, harmony, mental wellness and spiritual awareness in society.Earlier, President of the Trust Anil Bharti welcomed the Governor and said that the guidance of experienced and visionary leaders like Kavinder Gupta would further strengthen the spirit of public service and social transformation.
