Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL) has earned an approximate profit of ₹300 crore from power sales up to December 31, 2025, marking a significant increase compared to the ₹206 crore profit recorded during the same period in the previous financial year. The improvement reflects stronger financial performance and better power management by the board.

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, while sharing this information at his official residence, attributed the achievement to the state government’s “Vyavastha Parivartan” initiative and smart policy reforms. He said that the introduction of the Himachal Pradesh Electricity Grid Code has aligned the state’s power operations with national standards, improving grid security, transmission efficiency, and overall reliability.

The Chief Minister also highlighted key infrastructure upgrades, including the installation of 1.5 lakh smart meters in Shimla and Dharamshala and the implementation of advanced SCADA systems in industrial areas, which have helped reduce distribution losses. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening the power sector while ensuring better services for consumers and creating employment opportunities for local youth.
