Chandigarh: Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Balbir Singh on Sunday chaired a high-level review meeting to assess the on-ground implementation of the ₹10 lakh cashless health insurance scheme, Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna (MMSY). Held at the State Health Agency Punjab, the meeting brought together key stakeholders from the public and private healthcare sector, including representatives of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Punjab, Punjab Hospital and Nursing Home Association (PHANA), PCMS doctors and leading private medical colleges.

Reiterating the Mann Government’s commitment to citizen-centric healthcare, Dr Balbir Singh stressed that strict adherence to guidelines, ethical medical practices and complete transparency were essential for the success of the scheme. He said the objective of MMSY is to ensure quality healthcare for every resident of Punjab without financial burden, adding that there would be zero tolerance for deviations from prescribed norms. Senior officials, including Principal Secretary Health Kumar Rahul and SHA CEO Sanyam Aggarwal, were also present during the review.

Representatives of IMA Punjab, PHANA and private medical colleges expressed strong support for the scheme and assured full cooperation in beneficiary enrolment and hospital empanelment. Medical bodies welcomed the revised Package Master HBP 2.2, saying improved reimbursement rates would strengthen hospital participation and ensure smoother implementation. The meeting concluded with a shared commitment from all stakeholders to work collectively to make MMSY a transparent, robust and people-focused healthcare guarantee for Punjab.
