Chandigarh: The Haryana State Industrial & Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) has made the first two Atal Shramik Kisan Canteens at Sector 4 and Sector 5, in IMT Manesar functional. These canteens have started operations from today, marking a major step toward strengthening worker welfare facilities in the region.

A department spokesperson said the HSIIDC has identified a total of five locations in IMT Manesar for the rollout of these canteens. The remaining three locations are currently under development and will be operational in the coming weeks, ensuring wider coverage for the industrial workforce.

The construction of these canteens is being carried out under CSR support from industry partners, and leading industrial associations, reflecting strong industry collaboration toward worker welfare and social upliftment.

The canteens will be run by Self Help Groups (SHGs), ensuring not only efficient management but also providing meaningful employment opportunities to local women and community members.

Under the Government of Haryana’s Atal Shramik Kisan Canteen Scheme, workers will be served a wholesome and hygienic Rs 10 thali, making nutritious food easily accessible and affordable within the industrial estate.

The HSIIDC is committed to continuously enhancing worker-centric infrastructure across its estates, and the launch of these canteens reinforces its mission of inclusive growth and improved quality of life for the industrial workforce.
