Chandigarh: Haryana’s Development and Panchayats Minister Krishan Lal Panwar said Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji was a great spiritual figure who sacrificed his life to protect humanity and the freedom of religion. He is known as “Hind Di Chadar” because he served as the shield for not just the Sikh community but for the dignity of the entire nation. When he offered his sacrifice at Chandni Chowk in Delhi, it was not for himself alone, but for the liberty of all mankind. His message was to be fearless, to remain free from fear, and to walk on the path of truth. Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji gave his head but never bowed to injustice. His supreme sacrifice teaches us that the path of truth may be difficult, but it is the path that leads to immortality.

Panwar was speaking as the chief guest at a grand Light and Sound Show organized at Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, on Monday evening. The show depicted the life events of the ninth Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, on the occasion of his 350th Martyrdom anniversary. Through light and sound, the life story of Guru Sahib was portrayed so vividly that the scenes appeared to come alive before the audience. Among those present were Lok Sabha MP Dharambir Singh, former minister Manish Grover, and member of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee Sardar Karnail Singh, who attended as special guests.

Panwar said that this event is dedicated to the ideals, sacrifice, and immortal legacy of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. Guru Sahib devoted everything for the protection of religion, humanity, and the nation. His martyrdom stands as a symbol of national identity and unity. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, the Haryana Government has launched a special series of events across the state from November 1 to commemorate the 350th year of Guru Sahib’s martyrdom. The state-level main event will be held on November 25 in Kurukshetra.

Lok Sabha MP Dharambir Singh said that Sikhism is one of the strongest religions in the world. The faith places great emphasis on discipline, and its followers never hesitate to make sacrifices to safeguard their values and traditions. Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji travelled across northern India and went from Anandpur Sahib to Agra to protect Kashmiri Pandits from persecution. He made the supreme sacrifice in the service of religion and the nation.
