‘Pavitra Rishta’ Actress Priya Marathe Passes Away at 38 After Courageous Fight Against Cancer

Mumbai: Actress Priya Marathe, widely recognized for her memorable roles in television and Marathi cinema, passed away peacefully at her home in Mira Road, Mumbai, following a prolonged battle with cancer. She was 38 years old.

Born on April 23, 1987, in Mumbai, Priya Marathe carved a niche for herself in both Marathi and Hindi entertainment industries. She rose to prominence with her role as Varsha in the acclaimed television series Pavitra Rishta, which earned her a special place in viewers’ hearts. Her performances as Vidya Bali in Kasamh Se and Jyoti Malhotra in Bade Acche Lagte Hain further showcased her talent and versatility.

Priya’s artistic journey spanned diverse genres, from intense drama to comedy. She captivated audiences in shows like Char Divas Sasuche, Tu Tithe Mi, Swarajyarakshak Sambhaji, Ya Sukhano Ya, Saath Nibhaana Saathiya, and Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap. Additionally, she displayed her comedic flair in the inaugural season of Comedy Circus, delighting fans with her vibrant screen presence.

In 2023, Priya withdrew from the Marathi serial Tuzech Mi Geet Gaat Aahe citing health reasons. Since then, she remained mostly out of the public spotlight, fueling speculation about her illness, which she bravely fought in privacy.
