Chandigarh: A dispute involving Punjabi music star Karan Aujla has continued to unfold online, drawing sharp reactions from within the entertainment industry. The controversy began after a Canada-based artist, who goes by the name Ms Gori, alleged that she was romantically involved with Aujla without being informed that he was married to Palak Aujla.
The matter gained further traction when actor and entrepreneur Parul Gulati shared a video on social media in which she openly challenged Gori’s claims and spoke in support of the singer. In her post, Parul recounted a past interaction with Aujla, mentioning that he later unfollowed her on Instagram. She interpreted this as a conscious choice by a committed husband, suggesting that his behaviour reflected loyalty and a desire to protect his marriage.
Parul also cast doubt on the allegations, implying that the claims were exaggerated and possibly driven by the pursuit of online attention rather than genuine grievance. Her remarks sparked intense debate across social platforms, with users taking sides and questioning the credibility of the accusations.
Reacting to Parul’s video, Ms Gori posted a response through her Instagram Stories. Sharing a clip of the actor’s remarks, she expressed dismay at the way her allegations were being dismissed. She wrote that such reactions demonstrate why many women hesitate to speak publicly about their experiences, adding that people are quick to judge and shame without hearing the full story.
The exchange has further polarised public opinion, with discussions extending beyond the individuals involved to broader issues around accountability, credibility and how allegations are handled in the public sphere.
As of now, Karan Aujla and his representatives have not released any formal statement directly addressing the accusations or the subsequent online exchanges.
