Breaking: Rajvir Jawanda Is No More

Chandigarh: After battling for his life for over 11 days, the Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda died on Wednesday at Fortis Hospital in Mohali.

Rajvir Jawanda was admitted to hospital for a long time now after he got involved in a serious motorcycle accident near Pinjore.

He reportedly lost control of his bike and suffered severe head and spinal injuries. Media reports indicated that before being moved to a tertiary care center, he suffered a cardiac arrest at a local hospital.

Punjabi singers, and as well as Punjab’s Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann met him and visited the hospital to inquire about his health.

A Rising Star Silenced Too Soon

Hailing from Pona village in Ludhiana district, Rajvir Jawanda rose to fame with hit songs like Kali Jawande Di, Sardaari, and Rabb Karke. He was known for his powerful vocals and traditional Punjabi folk influences, and he had also made his mark in Punjabi cinema with films like Subedar Joginder Singh and Jind Jaan.

Beyond his career in music and film, Jawanda had briefly served in the Punjab Police, adding a unique chapter to his life story that resonated with fans.

Tributes Pour In

Tributes have begun to flood social media as fellow artists, public figures, and fans mourn the loss of a gifted performer and kind-hearted individual. “Punjab has lost a shining voice,” read one tribute. “His songs will live on even if he is no longer with us.”

Funeral and last rites details are expected to be announced by his family shortly.
