Mumbai: Veteran Bollywood actor Govinda was rushed to CritiCare Hospital in Juhu late Monday night after reportedly collapsing at his residence, his close friend and legal advisor Lalit Bindal confirmed.
The 61-year-old actor, known for his energetic performances and timeless comedy hits, was said to have experienced a brief spell of unconsciousness before contacting Bindal for help. “He fainted in the evening and called me. I immediately took him to CritiCare Hospital. He is currently under observation and undergoing a series of medical tests,” Bindal told reporters.
Doctors at the hospital have not yet released an official statement regarding Govinda’s condition, but sources suggest he is stable and being closely monitored by a team of specialists.
Bindal later shared a post on Instagram updating fans about the actor’s health. “My dear and respected @govinda_herono1 has been admitted to the hospital with complaints of disorientation and unconsciousness. I pray for his speedy recovery,” he wrote, drawing an outpouring of concern and well-wishes from fans and fellow celebrities.
Govinda, who dominated the Hindi film industry through the 1990s and early 2000s with hits like Hero No. 1, Coolie No. 1, and Haseena Maan Jaayegi, has maintained a relatively low profile in recent years but remains a beloved figure among audiences.
As per hospital sources, more details on his health status are expected to be shared once the medical team completes diagnostic evaluations.
