Vadodara: Royal Challengers Bengaluru added another feather to their cap on February 5, clinching the Women’s Premier League 2026 title after a six-wicket victory over Delhi Capitals. The win marked RCB’s second WPL championship, reinforcing the franchise’s growing dominance in women’s cricket.
The memorable triumph drew reactions from across the sporting and entertainment worlds, including actor Anushka Sharma, who took to social media to celebrate the achievement. Sharing her excitement, Anushka posted a photograph of the RCB Women’s squad celebrating with the trophy on Instagram. Her caption read, “RCB Women do it again. History repeated,” a nod to the team’s ability to reclaim the title.
Anushka’s association with the RCB franchise runs deep. Her husband, cricketer Virat Kohli, has been a long-time face of the Bengaluru-based team in the men’s IPL and previously captained the side, making the women’s team’s success especially meaningful for the family.
Away from the cricket field, Anushka and Virat have recently been in the spotlight for more personal reasons. The couple was seen performing a puja at their London home, images of which circulated online. In the photo, Anushka was dressed in a white cardigan paired with an orange skirt, while Virat wore a traditional white kurta, as they posed alongside a priest following the ceremony.
Late last year, the duo also visited spiritual leader Premanand Ji Maharaj at his Vrindavan ashram, Shri Hit Radha Keli Kunj. A video shared on the Bhajan Marg Instagram page showed them engaging in a conversation with the guru, who advised them to approach their professional lives as a form of service and emphasised humility, devotion and mindfulness.
Married in 2017 in Italy, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma continue to balance high-profile careers with family life. They are parents to daughter Vamika, born in 2021, and son Akaay, who was born in 2024.
As RCB Women celebrate another landmark title, Anushka’s message captured the sentiment of fans — a sense that the franchise is steadily building its own legacy in the women’s game.
