New Delhi: The Delhi Police have summoned Javed Ahmad Siddiqui, the chairman of Al Falah University, as part of two ongoing investigations involving a terror module linked to the university and allegations of fraud. According to officials, the summons were issued after authorities identified critical discrepancies in the university’s operations, which require clarification from Siddiqui.

The investigations stem from two separate cases—the Faridabad terror module and claims of forgery and deception within the university. These developments follow significant concerns raised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), both of which flagged “serious irregularities” in the university’s accreditation documents.

A senior police official confirmed that the university had been the subject of two First Information Reports (FIRs) related to allegations of fake accreditation and misleading claims made by the institution. The FIRs were filed after UGC and NAAC submitted their findings, which pointed to major discrepancies in the university’s official records.

“The FIRs are centered around allegations that the university presented false accreditation documents,” said the officer. “The investigation is ongoing, and we’re scrutinizing all aspects of the case.”

In addition to the fraud investigation, police sources revealed that Siddiqui’s involvement in the Faridabad terror module probe had prompted further scrutiny. Authorities are exploring potential links between several suspects arrested in connection with a recent blast near the Red Fort and their ties to Al Falah University. Some of the suspects are believed to have had associations with the university, leading investigators to examine both academic and financial records as part of a broader inquiry.

The Crime Branch has intensified efforts to trace any financial irregularities, unauthorized approvals, and links between university staff and individuals under suspicion for involvement in terrorist activities. Investigators are also closely reviewing the university’s administrative functions to uncover any potential foul play in the institution’s operations.

The summons to Siddiqui is considered a crucial step in piecing together the details of the investigation, which continues to unravel the scope of both the alleged fraud and its possible connections to broader national security concerns.
