NEW DELHI — The Delhi Police Crime Branch successfully dismantled a sophisticated operation involved in the manufacturing and distribution of counterfeit protein supplements across the National Capital Region (NCR). Officials confirmed on Sunday, March 8, 2026, that two individuals were apprehended following a targeted raid in the Brahmpuri area, uncovering a significant hoard of illicit health products destined for the retail market.

The suspects, identified as Mohit Tiwari and Mohit Dixit, both residents of Brahmpuri, were taken into custody on March 6. During the operation, law enforcement officers recovered approximately 100 kilograms of finished counterfeit supplements along with over 55 kilograms of raw ingredients. The raid also yielded specialized equipment, including two mixing machines, high-quality packaging materials, and fraudulent hologram stickers designed to mimic premium international health brands.

According to the police investigation, the duo utilized a combination of maltodextrin, cocoa powder, and various flavouring agents to produce the fake powders. These substances were then sealed in professional-looking jars and labeled with the branding of reputed companies to deceive unsuspecting fitness enthusiasts. Interrogations revealed that Tiwari, who previously worked at a legitimate food supplement shop, utilized his industry knowledge to launch the illegal venture after connecting with an established manufacturer in the underground trade.

His accomplice, Mohit Dixit, who has resided in the capital for over two decades, was primarily responsible for the technical side of the operation. His role involved the precise mixing of raw materials and the final packaging to ensure the counterfeit products appeared authentic to consumers and retailers. The police noted that the scale of the recovery suggests a well-organized supply chain that was likely operational for a significant period before the intervention.

A formal case has been registered at the Crime Branch police station, and a wider investigation is currently underway. The Delhi Police are now focused on tracing the primary suppliers of the raw materials and identifying other associates involved in the distribution network that spans across Delhi and its neighbouring states. Authorities have cautioned the public to purchase health supplements only from authorized vendors and to verify the authenticity of packaging through official brand verification channels.
