Delhi Police Bust Transnational Arms Syndicate; High-End Special Forces Weapons Seized

New Delhi: The Delhi Police Special Cell announced on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, the successful dismantling of a sophisticated international arms smuggling module with operational links spanning Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh. In a coordinated multi-state operation, law enforcement authorities arrested 10 individuals and recovered a significant cache of 21 foreign-made firearms. The seizure includes high-end automatic weapons and sub-machine guns rarely seen in civilian criminal networks, alongside 200 rounds of live ammunition.

The inventory of recovered weaponry highlights the high-calibre nature of the syndicate’s inventory. Among the seized items is a Czech Republic-made sub-machine gun and several PX-5.7 pistols, which are typically reserved for use by elite special forces globally. Other recovered firearms include Stoeger pistols from Turkey, PX-3 pistols from China, Shadow CZ pistols from the Czech Republic, and various models from renowned manufacturers such as Beretta (Italy), Taurus (Brazil), and Walther (Germany). Police officials stated that the diversity and quality of these weapons indicate a well-funded network with direct access to international military-grade suppliers.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the module operated as a critical supply chain for organized crime syndicates across India. The accused were reportedly in constant communication with handlers and suppliers based in neighbouring countries, utilizing covert transit routes and a series of intermediaries to bypass border security. The Special Cell is currently working to trace the financial trail and identify the “forward linkages”—specifically the local criminal gangs that were the intended recipients of these sophisticated arms. Further raids are expected as the investigation shifts toward neutralizing the remaining sleeper cells of this cross-border network.
