Chandigarh: Punjab Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond today informed that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is organizing a series of grand events to mark the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the ninth Sikh Guru who made the supreme sacrifice for the protection of faith and human values.

Sond said that the commemorative events will commence on October 25 with an Ardas (prayer) at the historic Gurdwara Sri Sis Ganj Sahib in New Delhi. On this occasion, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, all Cabinet Ministers, and senior officers of the Punjab Government will pay obeisance at the Gurudwara Sahib.

He further shared that the Chief Minister will also visit the martyrdom sites of Bhai Mati Das Ji, Bhai Sati Das Ji, and Bhai Dayala Ji to pay floral tributes and honour their unparalleled sacrifices.

The Minister added that on the evening of October 25, a grand Kirtan Darbar will be organized at Gurdwara Sri Rakab Ganj Sahib, New Delhi. Throughout the month, the Punjab Government will hold several large-scale programs aimed at spreading the message, teachings, and philosophy of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji to the masses.

Highlighting the state’s initiatives to preserve Sikh heritage, Sond said that on this historic occasion, the Punjab Government has also launched major projects for the revitalization of Sri Anandpur Sahib, the sacred birthplace of the Khalsa. Recently, a memorial dedicated to Bhai Jaita Ji has been inaugurated, featuring five thematic galleries depicting his historical contribution and sacrifice. The memorial spans five acres, with a covered area of about two acres and a constructed space of 3,200 square feet.

Sond further informed that as part of the 350th martyrdom commemorations, four Nagar Kirtans will be organized from November 19 to 22, starting from Srinagar, symbolizing the spiritual journey and legacy of Guru Sahib’s message of peace and humanity.
