Delhi: In a major development in the 2024 bomb attack case outside rapper Badshah’s nightclub in Chandigarh, Delhi Police Special Cell has apprehended an accused named Deepak from Faridkot, Punjab. Deepak is believed to have close ties with notorious gangster Goldy Brar, who had earlier claimed responsibility for the attack. The blasts occurred on November 26 outside two clubs in Chandigarh—the Seville Bar and Lounge, owned by Badshah, and De Orra Club, owned by local businessmen. CCTV footage showed an assailant throwing crude bombs at the establishments before fleeing the scene, causing extensive damage to glass windows. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Shortly after the incident, Goldy Brar, associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, allegedly took responsibility through a Facebook post, naming himself and gang member Rohit Godara as the perpetrators. The authenticity of the post could not be independently verified. Following the blast, two suspects, Vinay (20) and Ajit Sehrawat (21) from Hisar, were arrested on November 29 during a joint operation conducted by Chandigarh Police and Haryana’s Special Task Force. The suspects were wounded in the legs during an encounter and received medical treatment after their arrest. The latest arrest of Deepak in Delhi marks a significant step forward in the investigation, as authorities continue efforts to dismantle the gang network behind the attack and bring all culprits to justice.
