Ludhiana: A major administrative change has taken place in the management of the city’s main bus stand. The Punjab government has officially handed over its operations to a private company, Arjun Yadav & Company, starting today. For years, the bus stand had been struggling with staff shortages that disrupted the fee collection process. The new arrangement is expected to generate approximately ₹52 lakh in monthly revenue for the government.

According to General Manager Navraj Bhatish, an online bidding process was conducted for the bus stand management contract. Arjun Yadav & Company placed the highest bid and won the contract. Following the approval, the state government granted the firm a six-month lease for ₹52 lakh per month. The company has already paid an advance of around ₹1.04 crore, covering the first two months.

Under the new system, every bus entering the Ludhiana Bus Stand will now pay an entry fee of about ₹130. On average, nearly 1,400 buses arrive and depart daily from the stand, ensuring significant revenue for both the company and the Punjab government.
