Amritsar: In a late-night operation, Amritsar police conducted a raid at BR Hotel in Kahiya Wala Bazaar, near the Sri Darbar Sahib, detaining four women and the hotel manager on suspicion of involvement in immoral activities. Authorities are now searching for the hotel owner and other possible accomplices.

According to Station In-Charge Baljinder Singh Aulakh, the raid followed information received from confidential sources that illegal activities were taking place at the hotel. Acting on the tip-off, police carried out a surprise inspection around 10:30 pm on Thursday night.

During the raid, officers reportedly found the women and the hotel manager in compromising situations. Several pieces of evidence were also seized from the premises, which have been added to the ongoing investigation.

Aulakh confirmed that a case has been registered against the manager, who is currently being questioned in custody. The four women and the manager are scheduled to be produced in court today, where further action will be determined.

The police official emphasized that strict measures would be taken to crack down on illegal activities in the city and to hold accountable anyone involved in such crimes. Investigators are actively working to locate the hotel owner and other potential participants in the case.

This operation comes amid heightened efforts by Amritsar authorities to monitor establishments suspected of illegal or immoral practices, especially in areas frequented by tourists and pilgrims.
