Amritsar: In a significant crackdown on cross-border drug trafficking, the Amritsar Rural Police and the Border Security Force (BSF) recovered 3 kilograms of high-purity ICE (methamphetamine) near Bhaini Rajputan village. The seized narcotics are valued at several crores in the international market.

Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav shared the development on X (formerly Twitter), describing the operation as a “well-coordinated and swift action” carried out on intelligence shared by both agencies. The recovery was made during a surprise inspection aimed at intercepting illegal consignments.

An FIR has been registered at the Gharyinda police station, and investigations are ongoing to dismantle the broader drug network linked to this shipment. SSP (Rural) Maninder Singh said authorities are conducting detailed technical investigations to trace the suppliers and their local connections.

Reiterating the state’s strong stance against narcotics, the SSP affirmed that the Punjab Police is committed to a drug-free state and warned that anyone involved in illegal drug trade will face stringent action.
