Chandigarh: Following the heartbreaking news of Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda’s passing, Punjab’s Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains has expressed his deep sorrow and extended condolences to the late artist’s family, fans, and the music community.

In a heartfelt statement shared on Wednesday, Bains said he was “deeply saddened” to learn of Jawanda’s untimely death. The singer had been battling for his life at Fortis Hospital, Mohali, after sustaining critical injuries in a motorcycle accident that occurred recently in the Baddi area of Himachal Pradesh.

“May Waheguru grant eternal peace to the departed soul and give strength to his family and admirers to bear this irreparable loss,” said the minister.

Harjot Singh Bains also acknowledged Jawanda’s lasting impact on Punjabi music, noting that his songs and unique voice had earned him a special place in the hearts of millions.

“Rajvir Jawanda’s songs and his melodious voice will forever live in our hearts,” he added, paying homage to the artist’s cultural and emotional influence.

A State Mourns a Rising Star

The minister’s message echoes the grief felt across Punjab, where fans and fellow artists continue to mourn the loss of the 33-year-old singer. Jawanda, known for hits like Kali Jawande Di, Sardaari, and Rabb Karke, was considered one of the most promising voices of modern Punjabi music.

He had been under constant medical care since the accident, which left him with severe head and spinal injuries. Despite all efforts, he passed away on October 8 after 11 days in critical condition.

The government, entertainment industry, and fans alike have called his death a tragic loss not only to music but also to Punjabi culture.
