Shimla/Chandigarh: At least four people lost their lives in a rain-related accident in Himachal Pradesh as the region continues to experience relentless monsoon showers. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued a fresh warning for heavy rainfall in both Himachal Pradesh and Punjab over the next two days.

According to officials, an orange alert has been issued for Una, Bilaspur, Kangra, and Sirmaur districts of Himachal Pradesh for August 5, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall that could lead to landslides and road disruptions. Additionally, yellow alerts have been sounded in Hamirpur, Mandi, Shimla, and Solan districts, where moderate to heavy rainfall is expected.

In neighboring Punjab, light to moderate showers were recorded in several parts on Monday. However, the weather department has warned of heavy rainfall in certain areas on Tuesday, advising residents to remain cautious and avoid unnecessary travel.

Authorities in both states have urged people to stay updated on weather advisories, follow safety measures, and report any emergency situations immediately to local administrations.
