Chennai: The Madras High Court on Friday dismissed BJP leader Uma Anandan’s plea seeking a CBI investigation into the tragic Karur stampede that occurred during actor-politician Vijay’s public rally on September 27, which claimed 41 lives.

Anandan had approached the court citing unresolved questions surrounding the incident, including alleged official negligence.

A division bench, while rejecting the plea, advised the petitioner to file her request before the Madurai bench of the High Court, the jurisdictional forum for the matter.
