Jalandhar: Residents of Jalandhar have received a key update regarding the city’s firecracker markets. The popular Barleton Park will no longer host firecracker sales this year. Instead, the Jalandhar Municipal Corporation has allocated a new site at Beant Singh Park, Industrial Focal Point, following the issuance of a fresh No Objection Certificate (NOC).

Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Agarwal has instructed the Jalandhar Police Commissioner to ensure compliance with all policies and regulations related to the new market. The move comes after the municipal corporation had earlier designated two separate locations for firecracker markets, but the new NOC confirms the shift to Beant Singh Park.

The letter from the Deputy Commissioner emphasized that the Police Commissioner must strictly enforce guidelines under the Punjab Government’s policy, as well as adhere to the provisions of the Explosives Act, 2008, and its related rules. The authorities aim to ensure a safe and regulated environment for festive firecracker sales in the city.
