New Delhi — The Government of India has approved the release of 25 lakh additional LPG connections under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) for the financial year 2025–26.
With this expansion, the total number of connections distributed under the scheme will reach 10.58 crore, reinforcing the government’s commitment to providing clean cooking fuel to households nationwide.
Launched in 2016, PMUY aims to empower women and promote health by encouraging the use of LPG as a safe and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional cooking fuels.
