Samrala: Tragedy struck a family from Manjali Khurd near Samrala as 24-year-old Amandeep Singh passed away due to exposure to toxic gas while working abroad in Armenia. Amandeep had moved to Armenia two and a half years ago to earn a living at a goat farm and build a better future.

According to doctors, his death was caused by inhaling poisonous gas. Amandeep, who was married, was the only son among three sisters. His newborn daughter, born just 10 days after he left for Armenia, he had only seen via a video call on his mobile.

Speaking to the media, Amandeep’s father said, “Two and a half years ago, my son went abroad to earn a living and secure a good future. On September 15, we received a call from Armenia informing us that he had died. It was a devastating blow for our family.”

The family has been in distress for the past five days, trying to arrange for the body to be sent back home. “We have approached the administration and government authorities, but so far we haven’t been able to bring our son’s body back, nor has any official visited our village to assist us,” said the grieving father.

He appealed to the government to ensure that Amandeep Singh’s body is brought back to his native village so that the family can perform his final rites and pay their respects.
